Introducing Celeste
A Retro Display Type Font inspired by the Art Nouveau Movement, present from the 1890s to the 1910s. With a great use of ornaments, attention to organic details and inspiration in the curves of nature, the French movement reflected its influence on Architecture, Design, Fashion and the way of life of the society of the time.
Created through an experimental process, Celeste sought to apply these characteristics in order to exalt the beauty of this Movement, including some modernity traits. It has all the main characters, in capital letters, developed with a study of its visual weight and taking into account the enhancement of its main characteristics. Focusing on the contrast of curves and rectilinear elements, Celeste carries an appreciation of creating a harmony for each shape.
Here I present you some of the many ways I envisioned Celeste being used when developing the font, but feel free to experiment and try other combinations :)
